About

What is Study Buddy?

Study Buddy is a time management mobile app targeted towards university students struggling with assignments and deadlines. The app provides a daily working schedule, and cool-off activities as well an “ask a friend” option to facilitate successful studying as well as the wellbeing of the user.

My team started our research by establishing the problem we wanted to tackle concerning our study subject “relief'“ and the factors that the user would commonly associate with the feeling.

Problem

Many students struggle with time management during their university years. This can lead to unpleasant academic results as well as anxiety and distress.

Solution

“Study Buddy” addresses this issue by offering users personalised daily schedules, cool-off activities and other features with useful impact.

User Flow

How to use it?

The app design offers the users an easy-to-use interface which does not require intensive personal input. To connect the user has to include their university student account credentials, for the app to pick up the schedule.

Also, the app supports the user’s choices, offering them 3 types of daily programs based on the intensity of the workload.

From this point, the user is ready to go on their way towards academic success by making use of the daily assistance of our mascot “Brainy Dolphin”

Wireframes

We created these wireframes to gain a clear understanding of the functionalities and general structure of the app before designing the Hi-Fi prototype.

Final Thoughts

My Learnings

The Study Buddy app was a collaborative project that helped me enhance my work distribution abilities and digital design skills in programs such as Figma and Miro.

Throughout the design process, I have constantly contacted my teammates, offering me new insights and perspectives on our work. Our communication sessions improved our work flow's efficiency and clarity, leading to a consistent final design.

Possible developments

The usability and efficiency of the app can be further developed through extended research methods such as surveys as well as feedback sessions with members of our target audience, which in this case are students who are unable to manage their university work load.
